WALTON & HERSHAM YOUTH FC RECEIVE FA CHARTER STANDARD YOUTH ACCREDITATION

The FA Charter Standard Programme is the FA’s accreditation scheme open to all grassroots clubs and aims to raise standards in the grassroots game. Clubs who achieve Charter Standard recognition have demonstrated that they offer well-run and sustainable football and prioritise the values of the FA’s Respect campaign as part of their ethos.

Club Chairman, Mark Middleton said: “I cannot emphasise strongly enough how pleasing it is to see our club in action on a weekly basis. When we started out 5 seasons ago we had 20 children playing football. We currently have 250 girls and boys playing football each weekend across our 18 teams and our Mini Academy for 4-8 year olds. We continue to receive overwhelmingly positive comments about the way we play, the attitude of our footballers and the reputation we have as a club is exactly what we hoped it would be when we set up the club – the best junior football experience in the Borough.”

Pat Kirby, Head coach, added, “FA Charter Standard Youth accreditation is great recognition of the work carried out by our many parent volunteer managers and secretaries who run our junior teams in partnership with professional SkillZone Soccer Platinum Centre coaches. We are delighted to receive this award as recognition of the fantastic ethos at the club both on and off the pitch. This is evident at every training session, match and committee meeting – a club built on the goodwill of an ever-growing community.”
